Algebra 2 is a mathematics course requiring discipline, logic, and hard work in finding solutions to complex problems.  A requirement of this course is a basic understanding of the rules of Algebra and Geometry.

Grading System:

·        Tests and Quizzes               70%

·        Notebook                          20%

·        Participation                       10%

Notebook:   Needs to be done on a daily basis. It needs to be complete and mostly correct.  Homework needs to be corrected on a daily basis on the back of the assignment.  All work must be shown along with pictures where applicable.

(any student that has a 90% or higher at midterm/quarter will have the option of doing their notebook.  If they choose not do their notebook, then that portion of their grade is not used to calculate their grade.  Tests and Quizzes 90% and Participation 10%) 

*Any student coming to class with an incomplete assignment must serve a 20 minute detention before or after school before the next class period.  Failure to do so is handled according to the hand book.  (if the detention is served it goes away)

Grading Scale: The grading scale is posted. Semester grades will be figured 40%-40%-20%.(must pass 2 of 3)

Rules of the Class:

·        No food or drinks allowed.  One warning, then demerit.

·        Be in the room on time. Tardies handles per hand book.  (1 week to make up time)

·        Raise hand to talk or to leave seat during lectures or discussions.

·        Place trash in proper receptacles.

·        Come prepared for class.  Paper, pencil, calculator and book.

Extra Credit:  May only be done the first 8 weeks of any quarter.  (posters or bulletin board)

Demerits:  Will be assigned for major infractions of the handbook and must have a detention accompany it.
