Accelerated Reader
Accelerated Reader , also known as AR, is a program that encourages kids to read books in their level and sets goals for them using points and percentages. If those goals are achieved every quarter they get the grand prize of going to Huck's Harbor.
Points and PercentagesPoints are based on the size and difficulty of a book. The more difficult a book is the more points it is worth, if the book is small it is worth less points than the bigger books which are worth a lot more points. Percentages are given when you take a test on a book. If you get a bad score on the test for the book the percentage will be low. Points and percentages are how kids make their AR goal.
TestsTests are what you take once you finish a book. In the test you will answer questions, the questions are not to easy but not to hard and will not be about a different book, if you miss a question your percentage will go down. Tests are what you do to earn points and percentages. These to help you acheive your AR goal.
